After epidemic prevention and control measures will benefit Vietnam's export of Marine products

Vietnamese seafood exports to China rose 33 per cent year on year to $122m in February, according to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers.

Exports of Vietnamese Marine products to China are showing signs of recovery after China optimized its response to the coronavirus outbreak.

China became Vietnam's second largest export market for Marine products last year, with trade rising 63 percent, outpacing the industry's 23 percent annual growth rate, said Nguyen Hoai Nam, deputy secretary-general of the Vietnam Association of Aquatic Products Exporters and Producers (VASEP). China is brightening prospects for Vietnamese exporters of Marine products after a rapid change in its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tran Thanh Nam, Vietnam's vice Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, said the pandemic has disrupted multiple supply chains, resulting in a disconnect between Vietnamese companies and their Chinese partners, and measures are being taken to reconnect supply chains and boost bilateral trade.

Tran Thi Bich Ngoc, head of the border Administration, said Vietnam's agricultural and fishery exports to China through the Mong Cai international border port increased by about 60 percent year-on-year.

He urged local companies to adopt new production techniques and good organizational management practices to keep their products up to standards.

Vietnam's seafood exports fell 26 per cent year-on-year to $1.1 billion in the first two months of this year as demand in key markets including the US and Europe has yet to show signs of recovery, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) said.
